RJ-45 plug is a plastic connector that can only be inserted in a fixed direction and automatically prevented from falling off, commonly known as "crystal head", the professional term for RJ45 connector (RJ- 45 is a network interface specification, similar to the RJ-11 interface, which is our normal use of "telephone interface", used to connect the telephone line). The reason it is called a "crystal head" is because of its crystal clear appearance. This RJ-45 plug must be installed on both ends of the twisted pair cable in order to be plugged into the RJ-45 connector of a network card (NIC), hub or switch (Switch) for network communication.

The RJ11 interface is very similar to the RJ45 interface, but only has four pins (RJ45 is 8 pins). In computer systems, RJ11 is mainly used to connect modem debugging demodulator. In everyday applications, RJ-11 is commonly used in telephone wires. There is also a RJ12 usually also applicable to voice communications, the structure and the first two, but with six pins (6p6c). There are also six-slot, four-pin (6p4c) and six-slot, two-pin (6p2c) versions.

About crystal head stranded wire, its color code and arrangement method are strictly regulated by a unified international standard, so when doing so, just remember the standard, which is now commonly used is TIA/EIA568B.

568A standard: white green, green, white orange, blue, white blue, orange, white brown, brown.
568B standard: white orange, orange, white green, blue, white blue, green, white brown, brown.

There are two types of Ethernet twisted pair connection cables: one is a widely used straight connection cable, the other is a crossover cable used in special circumstances, if the pc is connected to a switch or other network interface, or other connected parties are not equal status in the case of a straight connection cable, and if the connection of two devices are equal, such as two PCs, laptops, etc., we must use the crossover cable, the difference between the two is not the same line sequence, the interface is the same.

The practice of parallel lines is: both ends use the same standard (the same 568A standard or 568B standard).

When connected to a gigabit network, slightly different. One end is: white orange, orange, white green, blue, white blue, green, white brown, brown; the other end is: white green, green, white orange, white brown, brown, orange, blue, white blue.
